A campaign and identity to support The Bank of England’s £142m Threadneedle Street refurbishment.

In 2025 I led the creative direction of The Bank of England’s ‘The Golden Thread’ campaign. An internal and external campaign to help communicate the £142 million redevelopment and expansion of the bank’s iconic Threadneedle Street headquarters, across the next 4 years. With the majority of that fee being taxpayer funded, the communication of the project is particularly crucial.

The core of my response was built around three structural patterns. The first being a ‘moquette’, inspired by London tube seats. The second being a ‘twill weave’, a unique technique from Yorkshire as a nod to the banks only other offices, based in Leeds city centre. While the third is a mosaic, inspired by the fascinating history of the Roman mosaics that coat the entry hall to the main building on Threadneedle Street.

I’ve worked to create the guidelines for this project, and have spent the previous year producing assets in the new look and feel. I also created a bold motion treatment for the bank’s video output.

Through 2025 this look and feel has been the primary identity used across internal comms for the bank and as of the start of 2026 has begun being rolled out externally.
